Yard notebook / PC full release — November 2026

A beginner’s route from first horse to a working yard

Begin with care and the early quests, then build the required Arena and prepare your horse for beginner Caprilli. Keep hay and water supplied, check body condition, and spend on the building that unlocks your next task. Use lessons and suitable boarders to support running costs before expanding into a larger breeding yard.

The decision, step by step

  1. Settle the first horse and follow the early quests

Choose the starter mare you like, then use the introductory quests to learn feeding, cleaning and training. Start each day with group hay and water, individual body condition and a health check. Do not spend your starting cash on upgrades whose function you do not yet need.

  2. Build trust before adding harder work

Check Confidence separately from physical fitness. Scritches and treats help below the upper Confidence marker; Confidence Training takes it higher. If a horse refuses or changes pace frequently, take the safer Confidence route before adding more jumps. A horse that stops giving hearts may already be above the petting cutoff.

  3. Construct the Arena and train for a specific goal

When the early tasks call for an Arena, build it and choose available training appropriate to your horse. Arena work mainly develops strength; trail rides lean toward endurance. Check the exercise warning before another run. Your first target is a horse that can complete the relevant Caprilli license course, not maximum stats in one day.

  4. Prepare the first Caprilli entry and trailer

Caprilli is the accessible starting competition route described by the launch guide. Complete the discipline’s license training, upgrade the Parking Lot for trailer ownership and select your horse at the town competition entry. The horse loads at selection; a 0/2 trailer display before selection is not an instruction to drag it into the trailer on the farm.

  5. Stabilise income, then decide what to expand

Use quest rewards, lessons and contracts you can actually fulfil to cover feed and building costs. A boarder uses a real stall and pays at the end of its stay. Keep spare cash for that gap. Once the ordinary routine is reliable, plan breeding with both the birth and future adult stall in mind.

What success looks like

You can complete an ordinary care day, finish a suitable training session without crossing the exercise warning, and follow the first competition entry route while retaining enough cash and space for the yard.

If the result is different

If the next activity is locked, read the exact prerequisite: a building, a course license, a prestige threshold and a horse’s health are different blockers. If cash runs low, postpone optional upgrades and review costs and manageable income. If the horse cannot work, return to care and Medical first.
