Yard notebook / PC full release — November 2026
Raise Confidence past 80 with safe repeat training
Open the horse’s Exercise menu in the stable, choose Train and scroll to Confidence Training 1 or 2. Approach an object until the horse is Curious, praise, and back up if it becomes Worried. Finish the pass to collect the gain, then use Repeat Training while exercise remains safely below the red marker. Scritches and treats reach a cutoff around 80; this training can continue to 100.

The decision, step by step
Choose the right horse and course
The detailed limits here are reported in Johan’s November 2026 launch guide. Confidence Training does not build strength or endurance. Yearlings and nursing mares can use it; heavily pregnant and Explosive horses cannot. Course 1 uses Umbrella and Plastic Bag and suits lower Confidence, around below 60. Course 2 uses Pool Noodles and Tarp and serves higher Confidence up to 100.
Approach slowly and reward Curious
Lead towards the scary object. A lowered head and stretched neck is the Curious response: use Praise, S by default in this activity. Praise while Curious to gain trust and permit a closer approach. These are Confidence Training controls; they are not a complete mapping for ridden work.

A raised head and tense posture means Worried. Use Back up, A by default here, and create space before approaching again. Pushing a worried horse closer can make it turn and bolt. Match the action to the posture; repeatedly pressing praise while the horse is worried is not the intended sequence.
Complete the pass and inspect the result
Confidence is collected once you pass the object: the reported gain is one per praise, capped at five per object and ten for the two-object run. A run costs two exercise. The result shows what your horse actually gained; do not expect every run to award the maximum.
Open full-size image ↗This run gained 9 Confidence and spent 2 exercise. Repeat Training starts another run; this result is an example, not a guaranteed gain. Repeat only inside the whole-day exercise allowance
Use Repeat Training on the results screen if another run is safe. There is no shared ten-action daily cap with scritches or treats. Earlier rides and lessons still consume exercise. Stop before the red warning; next-day exhaustion lowers performance and blocks physical-stat gains, and another over-limit day while exhausted risks tendon injury. Check body condition after a longer training block.
Maintain high Confidence and check riding traits
Scritches and treats stop helping beyond the upper marker, so use a short suitable training run or successful riding actions to maintain higher Confidence. The reported ordinary daily loss is one point. Normal horses stop spontaneous pace changes at 98–100, but Rebellious, Energetic and Chill can still change pace. Check traits before assuming that a full bar is broken.
What success looks like
The results show a Confidence gain and the stable bar rises beyond the petting cutoff, with the horse below its exercise warning. You can stop at the target and return tomorrow for maintenance.
If the result is different
If no gain appears, check whether you praised during Curious and actually passed the object. If Course 1 no longer gets a high-Confidence horse’s attention, use the appropriate higher course. If the activity is unavailable, check pregnancy stage or Explosive state. If exhausted, stop pursuing more runs and allow recovery.
